One album, five editions, several covers and a handful of very similar names. If you have ever wondered whether you need all of them, the answer is no. Start with what you want: a CD to play, a photobook to browse, a particular member cover or a compact digital edition.
Photobook editions: for the photos and the shelf
A photobook edition usually centres on a book of album photography, with packaging and extras listed for that release. The name alone does not guarantee a particular number of pages or inclusions.
Our ATEEZ GOLDEN HOUR : Part.5 Photobook Ver. is a verified CD example: a CD, a 60-page photobook and a dust jacket are listed. You can choose A or Z. Photocard A and Photocard Z are each random from eight possibilities; other listed member inclusions also have random selections.
Choose this if: the album's photography and physical presentation are part of the enjoyment. You can love one version without needing both.
Digipacks: a more compact physical option
A digipack is a packaging format, not a promise that every release has identical contents. It often suits someone who wants a physical album without the larger photobook format.
The ATEEZ Part.5 Digipack Unit Ver. includes a CD and a 28-page booklet. Its four selectable units are Hongjoong & Seonghwa, Yunho & Mingi, Yeosang & Wooyoung, and San & Jongho. The booklet and other cover-matched items relate to that unit; its photocard is random, one of six for the selected unit.
Choose this if: you like the smaller format or a particular unit. Do not assume a smaller package means a guaranteed favourite-member photocard.
Member versions: choose the cover, check the extras
A member edition usually identifies a particular member on the packaging or included member-focused material. It does not automatically make every item inside member-specific.
Stray Kids THIS & THAT Member Ver. offers Bang Chan, Lee Know, Changbin, Hyunjin, Han, Felix, Seungmin and I.N. The listing includes a member photobook and two mini CD-Rs, plus other inclusions, with a random ID photo and random photocard.
This is a physical-disc edition, but mini discs are not the same size as a standard CD. Check your player's manual before buying it mainly to listen, particularly with slot-loading players. Never assume a player accepts mini discs.
Platform and Weverse Albums: an album without a conventional CD
A platform edition typically provides music through a specified digital service rather than a standard audio CD. Depending on the release, registration may use a QR code, NFC or another method. Read the exact listing for the required app, device and included physical items; “platform” is not one universal format.
BTS ARIRANG's Weverse Albums digital option is explicitly listed as having no physical CD. Select the Weverse digital option deliberately, rather than assuming every version on the same product page contains a disc.
Weverse Albums is its own listening app. Official Weverse instructions for QR-based releases describe registering the album in that app. This is not a promise of a Spotify download or a standard CD tucked inside. The album's instructions govern activation; a separate survey or rewards QR code is not necessarily the music registration code.
Choose this if: the recipient wants that edition's digital experience and understands the app requirement. If they asked for a CD, choose a listing that explicitly includes one.
Random version, random photocard: two different things
- Random version: you are buying one version from the stated selection, not choosing its cover yourself.
- Selectable version: the product selector lets you choose a specific available cover, member or unit.
- Random inclusion: an item inside is selected from the manufacturer's stated possibilities, even when you chose the outer version.
A photo showing every member card is usually an illustration of the possibilities, not a promise that all cards are included. Read “one random of eight” literally. Multiple copies do not guarantee a complete set or no duplicates.
What about preorder benefits?
Preorder benefits, often shortened to POBs, are extras tied to a particular preorder offer, retailer or allocation. They are not the same as the standard album inclusions. A manufacturer preview mentioning benefits is not proof that a current retail copy includes them.
Only count on a benefit when the specific MyBiasHub listing says it is included in your selected option. A preorder label concerns availability and timing; it does not, by itself, promise an extra photocard. If a benefit matters to you, ask before ordering.
The one-minute decision
- Want a disc? Find the exact words CD or mini CD-R, and check compatibility.
- Want photography? Compare the listed photobook sizes and contents.
- Want your bias? Choose an available member or unit, then check which extras remain random.
- Want a digital edition? Confirm the app and understand that a physical CD may not be included.
- Check the selected quantity, current availability and shipping information.
